Challenges & Solutions

  • 1. Initially, the client only had a vague idea and a few sentences of what the Rewards Program should be, so the rest was with us. After wide research on the industry knowledge, we came up with the function design and sorted out the business logic, then we converted them into an illustrative prototype. After the client approved the prototype, then we began to implement the functions.
  • 2. The Rewards Program need to get sales data of each retailer periodically, however we could not directly get this data because the existing system does not provide API for it. We worked around this by designing a spreadsheet which can be exported from the existing system and then developing a custom import module in Rewards Program so that users can keep the sales data updated.
  • 3. As the Rewards Program involves fund settlement, the client has a high expectation of the project quality. Our tester joined the team in a very early stage so to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the requirements. Also each version needed to go through the tester’s full testing before every release.

With the Rewards Program, the management of retailor performance become easier and more organized, in the meantime the sales data provided by the program makes it easier for management to design marketing strategy.

The Rewards Program largely and hence helped to reduce HR cost.

 With the Rewards Program in place, retailors can receive stimulus and promotion policy in due time, and they can also easily track their current and historical income.
