Progress Control

It is well known that project progress monitoring and control is one of the most important factors of successful project. It is to ensure that the project can be delivered in time and with high quality. Through summarizing experiences from so many successful projects during these years, Nova has founded her own progress control methodology which is efficient, repeatable and suitable for our teams.

Define Project Scope

If the project scope has been extended during development process, more workload and man hours will be required to complete the project.. Eventually, the project progress will be affected. So, the project manager must define project scope accurately, pay more attention to those work which is prone to cause project scope expansion. Thus, defining the project scope is essential to ensure project progress.

Comprehensive Project plan

Project Plan is the basis of progress control. The most professional and experienced project managers of Nova will make the project plan. It will be used to measure if the project team works well during the entire development process. So a comprehensive Project Plan is very important, however, it can also be changed if any change of project requirements arises in the development life cycle. The project manager will adjust the project plan in good timeaccording to the actual project process and requirements.

Close Monitoring

Monitoring and evaluating the project progress is an important daily work for project manager. Through monitoring closely, the project manager can check the condition of project progress; if anything affects the progress, he will be able to fix it as early as possible. Besides, each team member will submit his/her work plan based on project plan and report his progress and problems to the project manager. Regular internal project meeting is held to discuss and solve the problems, share the information and experience, and notify the team members the latest status of the project.

Sensible Risk Management

Experienced project leader knows that however well the project runs at present, there are some potential risks. If these risks can't be properly taken care of as early as possible, the project progress will be affected sooner or later. One of enterprise spirits of Nova is continual improvement. The project managers will execute it well in risk analysis of project.

Moreover, Nova will hold a retrospective meeting to summarize experiences after each iteration.
